Let’s be honest. We have all probably been the victims of a prank call at one time or another (several readers will recall pulling the prank themselves, perhaps when they were younger)! But, while the people who are calling find it fascinatingly funny, it can really get on your last nerve. You want to reach your hand through the phone and choke them or anything else that will make them move on and find something better to do. The problem with tracing prank calls is that if it’s a cell phone number, you can run into problems. Since a lot of cell phone numbers are not listed, you can have a hard time finding out who the cell phone belongs to.

So, what do you do? Well, these days it’s fairly simple to find out who a cell phone belongs to, even if it’s unlisted. With simple web sites you can find out the owner and a lot of information about them. For example, at www.ReverseGenie.com, you can enter the cell phone number and in a matter of seconds you will know who the cell phone belongs to. That’s not all though. You can also find out where they live, if they have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, if they’ve ever been married, where they were born, and even if they have ever gone into bankruptcy.

So, imagine that a prank caller is calling again and you answer the phone. Of course, before they get a chance to start telling lame jokes or breathing hard into the phone, you begin giving them details of their personal life. Maybe you tell them you know exactly where they were born, even though now they live at a different address. You might tell them their husband or wife’s name, and what they have ever been arrested for. You can just throw in any sort of personal detail at all that you have learned by looking up their cell phone number. Can you imagine what they would be thinking? Wouldn’t it be great? This is definitely a way that you can stop someone from prank calling you ever again.

All funny business aside, you may discover that someone very dangerous has been calling your house. Normally, cops will not use the time and resources to try to trace a cell phone number for a couple of prank calls. However, if you have proof that a convicted criminal has been calling your house, you can be sure the cops will get moving to do something about it. If you ever find out that someone dangerous is calling you, do not hesitate to report exactly who it is and demand that something be done about it. You never know what that person’s intentions are. Luckily, you can trace cell numbers easily through websites like this.

I don’t remember dialing this number or that number. I don’t know who I’ve been talking to, or for that matter, if they are truly legitimate calls that I have made.

We all know that all types of phone companies (cell and landline) are very well known for “overcharging” their customers, getting records mixed up, etc. We also know that some how or other, sometimes charges can come up that do not belong to the owner, whether they were put there on “accident” by a cell phone company, landline company, or someone who has achieved the capability to intercept our accounts, be it a hacker, a scam artist, or identity theft. These things do happen. What can we do?

Thanks to some wonderful technology and our ability to access the internet, with a little know-how, we can generally find out a lot about the numbers on our phone bill by using a service called “reverse phone number look up”.

Some methods are free, and others can cost. The freebies are easy. Simply click on a service, enter the phone number, and viola! You have the name of the subscriber and (sometimes) the location, whether it is just the city and state, or sometimes even an address. However, these are only for the “listed” numbers. Unfortunately, for those of us attempting to access information about who the number is on our bills. Most cell phone companies issue phone numbers by default as “unlisted.” Then, it’s a whole different ballgame.

Break out that credit card! But… wait a minute! Do not jump on the first website you find. Research them a bit. Some sites charge a small fortune. Their fees can go up to $69.95 or more. These sites also claim to have unlimited services. Check the small print. Also, check reviews on each company. Just because it sounds good, doesn’t mean it is. Some companies do not have accurate information. You could type in the phone number, thinking “This is way too easy!” And… sometimes you won’t be getting what you paid for.

Like any other money venture… be careful. Just like when you dial, and just like when you are questioning phone numbers on your phone bill… you want to know who is getting your money. Putting out that amount of money does not guarantee you are going to find the information that you are looking for, however… it still might not give out any more information than checking on the free sites. It really depends on the company and the company’s ability to access records. So, you still might be out… without the information you were planning on receiving!

If you have a teenager, and that teenager has a cell phone, it is common interest to track phone numbers listed on your phone bill. After all… who pays the bill? Whose name is it under?

Your child talks endlessly? Sometimes it appears to be “under cover”… doesn’t it? So… you want to know who the heck they are talking to, right? Fear not! You can at least trace the location of the number!

Some services are free, and some are costly, however, so make sure you are using a reputable agency. There are many who do not give accurate information, and you pay a small fortune for their services. There are however some companies that give you correct and updated information for a very reasonable price.

It is very simple. You click onto a site. You enter the phone number (cell) and the more scandalous sites ask you to whip out your credit card and pay-up a fee of oh… $69.95! Yikes!

” . . . In this instance, you should be able to find out most of the information you want for FREE! Yes! There are free services, as well. Lucky us!

There are lots of reputable services that will charge a minimal amount and give you just the information you need (i.e. location and name of subscriber). But beware of scam artists! The more you pay does not necessarily mean the more information you will get, neither does it mean the information is correct. Check with some other companies.

On one of our sites (see above) we have a source to check out. There are several sites that offer reviews of pay-for companies, as well.

But, then again, if you are lucky enough to be looking at one, some of the phone numbers are “listed.” In this instance, you should be able to find out most of the information you want for FREE! Yes! There are free services, as well. Lucky us!

Parents can trace calls their kids make and receive for FREE! Tracing a cell phone number just got more interesting, right? But remember, most “kids” don’t have their own phone numbers and often use other phones that belong to “friends” as well. You may have to do a little more digging and actually talk to your teen.

Just to be on the safe side, let your teen also be aware to not loan out his or her phone, as the calls can be traced to you, just like you can trace them to someone else. He or she may feel they know their friends, but you don’t want your child involved in any wrong-doing or “crank-calling” adventures, either.

With reverse cell phone lookup, phone tracing, or whatever you want to call it, you can help your teen be responsible. Responsibility generates a better youth and, therefore, a better adult (in the future).

This responsible nature also shows teens to be precautious and wary of things that could happen to them. Things don’t just happen to kids who use “My Space”. They happen to kids who use cell phones or let others use them. It is not just the controlling or “nosy” parent in you (for trying to learn how to trace cell numbers), but the protective one.

I’m not sure about anybody else, but my favorite singer/ entertainer is, little Miss. Hannah Montana, otherwise known as Miley Cyrus! Lot of people swear she’s soooo funny and cool . . . more importantly, she takes a real interest in people in her audience and their lives. I’ve found, in recent months, that I’ve wanted to trace her cell number, not to be mean or anything like that, but just to tell her what an impact she’s had on me.

So, I tried and tried calling one of the schools she used to go to, but since she’s no longer there, they wouldn’t release any information on how to trace her cell number. Guess you could say I was sort of left up a tree. I thought it was quite sad that I would never be able to cell trace her phone, or tell her what a great performer she was.

The thing about Miley, aside from the fact that she’s slated to become a billionaire by the time she’s 18, is that she always has a big smile on her face, and from all I can tell, she likes me alot! OK, I’ve said it!

That is quite all right, because she is my favorite singer for sure. I just recently realized what a profound impact she has really had on me and how much more of an impact she might have if I had an actual live and working Hannah Montana’s phone number! That’d be sooooo boss!

Here’s what I came up with . . .

I mean, I actually found myself wanting to tell her what an impact she had on me and a friend told me about www.ReverseMobile.com. It is the ultimate resource for people like me, who want to conduct a free phone search (or maybe not exactly free), but those who don’t have very much information, like me.

You simply type in the name of the person you are looking for, and you are immediately given access to all sorts of information, including address, phone number, and much more. I was able to find Hannah Montana’s phone number and address quite easily. When I called, she couldn’t believe it! I finally got to tell her exactly what she had meant to me while I was in her audience, and even over the years! It’s TRUE!

To lookup a cell number is an easy way for you to find information about a number that you’ve found or that has called your home, work, or mobile phone. Whether you’re worried that your partner is cheating, that you’ve missed an important business call, or that you’ve lost touch with an old acquaintance, doing a lookup cell number with ReversePhoneDetective.com can help you get the answers you need, and you won’t even have to leave your computer!

lookup cell number - Your Options

To do a cell number lookup, you’ll need to go to a site which provides such a service. Of course, you are probably already familiar with the countless sites on the Internet that offer “free” trace cell number services.

Most of these do a great job of providing information if you’re looking for a landline number that isn’t unlisted. The bad news is that a growing number of the phone numbers we’re seeing aren’t from landlines. Free services won’t be able to help you if you want to trace a cell phone or unlisted number.

reverse phone Detective.com - The Best on the Net

In those cases, you’ll need to turn to a paid service. That’s not such a bad thing, usually because you’ll end up with more accurate, up-to-date information and, in the case of reverse phone Detective, you’ll learn more about the individual who owns the number than you probably imagined possible, like family members, relatives, and background information.

The registration process is simple and you only need to do it once. With reverse phone Detective, your membership entitles you to an unlimited number of cell trace searches, so in the future you only need to log in to find what you need.

After you’ve registered, you’ll be able to do your cell phone number lookup. Simply enter the area code and seven digits of the phone number in question. After you hit “Search,” the system will make a match using the number and its extensive database of records. While most reverse lookup services contain hardly any records, Reverse Phone Detective has wide coverage across the U.S., so you’ll get your results within seconds.

When available, you’ll find out the name of the cell phone number’s owner and their address, as well as background details you won’t find through any free services.

Social media megamovie, Horton Hears a Who has some limitations I’m just not happy with. Ironically, it has to do with people finders com — or actually, the non-use of people finders com. My 11-year old niece enjoys receiving text alerts to her mobile whenever someone pokes her, or leaves her a message. But, for some reason, she aptly reminded me this weekend, Horton the elephant may have been checking out what’s going on in Who-ville, but if he’s that curious about finding people, he should have been checking out all the many “free people finders” on the web!

With social media being among the most popular channel of networking, why has my niece’s favorite animated elephant so completely ignored the obvious? She’s got me wondering . . .

Now, the reason I’m being so pickey . . . is because I remember virtually every Dr. Seuss book that’s come out since the mid 60s, and it seemed to me that most of his characters were always up to date with the latest technology, and at the very least, they dressed fashionably. Take the “Cat in the Hat,” for instance. He never wears very much, but it seems his red bow-tie and oversized red/ white striped hat has begun to catch on. Don’t you think?

Anyways, this is what my niece is telling me! So, she knows that I have unlimited messaging with T-Mobile and limited messaging with AT&T. And, of course, Facebook users know that at some point, a lot of messages will pop through, some to which are unimportant. Still, I consider myself an avid Facebook user and I like to stay on top of what’s going on.

Maybe its just a personal gripe on my part, but for someone so avant-guarde as Dr. Seuss, shouldn’t he make sure that (his own character) Horton use the free people finders that are out there?

If, recently, you’ve been getting “crank calls” (not the ones from politicians . . . the other kind . . . you know, the “heavy breathers”!), or let’s say you found a cell phone number on your caller i.d. that you just don’t recognize . . . then you probably want to join one of America’s newest breed of people finders! So, let’s just see if we can just get you in the mood to trace someone’s identity from their cell phone number!

First of all, as long as you think you have the area code and the 7 digit phone number, you should be able to locate the owner of any telephone . . . if you know where to look. If you don’t have, or don’t know how to get their number in the first place, you might want to watch this related video — it shows you 5 other things you probably never knew you could do with any cell phone! After the video, we’ll pick up where we left off at, with tracing someone’s identity from their cell phone number.

Searching For The Telephone Number

Nice video, huh? Anyway, back to us . . . and, we were tracing, tracing, tracing someone’s identity from their cell phone number.

OK, your very first stop should be a “reverse lookup phone” service. Plenty of these companies are on the Internet. If you’ll look to the upper right-hand corner of this page, you’ll find one that I prefer, and it works perfectly well for this purpose.

At the site, you’ll enter the entire phone or cell number, including the area code, and hit “Search.” If the number connects to a published land line, you might get the info you want, including the legal name of the owner and her/ his current address. Even if the number is unlisted, you can still trace it through Intelius.com.

If you’re fortunate, your search could stop at that point. You may, however, need to look at this another way.

90% of those who use the above services will find who they’re looking for right away, but if, for whatever reason you run into something “unexpected” is that the number returns to a cell phone (could happen).

Because there is no central database of cell phone numbers that’s free of charge, what are (falsely) advertised as absolutely free reverse phone lookup services cannot return information on those numbers. In addition, you might not be able to get data on landline numbers that are either unlisted or non-published. I mention that only because Intelius has probably the largest database (more than 2 billion entries) and is able to find upwards of 90% of non-listed phone numbers. So, don’t bother trying multiple <a href="http://blogs.icerocket.com/tag/<a+href='http://www.cell-phone-usa.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-pro.php?id=8'+target="_blank">reverse+phone+lookup" rel="tag">reverse phone lookup directories in order to find the owner of a phone number, either. Most use the same databases, so if you don’t score results at one then you won’t fare any better at another site.

Finding the Phone’s Owner

Instead, you may have to use a paid site. For a reasonable fee, you can access more cell trace search options to get the information you need to find someone’s number. Some reverse phone databases will provide accurate, up-to-date information using both land line and cell phone searches.

Dealing with a prank caller is one of the most frustrating– and often scariest– experiences you can go through.

What’s interesting is that you never would have thought it’d be such a challenge until you’ve had to actually deal with a prank caller yourself. Here are some “real world” tips for how you can trace cell number, deal with a prank caller– and how to STOP them once and for all:

Tip #1: Report the prank caller

First things first. It’s not uncommon for break-in’s, kidnappings, and even violent crimes to begin with a seemingly “innocent” prank call.

Even if someone just keeps calling you and then hanging up– that’s reason enough to file a complaint, and it only takes a few minutes…

After all, better safe than sorry. Just call your local police and explain the problem. They have standard procedures for dealing with prank callers. (By no means are you the first person in the world who’s dealt with this!)

Tip #2: Trace cell number of the caller

If you think the caller might just be a silly friend– or you don’t want to involve the police yet– the next best thing to do is TRACE CELL NUMBER of the caller to find the owner.

The fastest way to trace cell number is by simply using caller ID. Almost every phone these days has caller ID, so this step should be easy… if the phone number isn’t listed, or if the call is coming from a cell phone number, you’ll need to run a special lookup.

Tip #3: Run a reverse phone lookup

If you have a number but no name/address, it’s time to conduct a reverse phone lookup. Your results will tell you WHO is calling, WHERE the number is located from, the PHONE COMPANY the number belongs to, and the ADDRESS of the owner (when available).

reverse phone Detective is what we prescribe for fast, discreet, and instant search results. Utilizing proprietary data sources and state-of-the-art technology, they’ll help you find the information you’re looking for… Period!
